Terms of Service
Last changed: October 20, 2026
- Be kind, and play fair: no cheating, no bullying, no rude names.
- Never share your real name, address, school, phone or email in the game.
- Polyworld is free. Nothing in it costs real money, and nothing in it is worth real money.
- The game changes often: things can get stronger or weaker.
- Under 13? Ask a parent or guardian before you play.
Who can play
Everyone is welcome, and many players are kids. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian should say it's OK and read our privacy page with you. By playing, you agree to these rules.
Your hero and your account
- With Play now, your browser keeps your hero. Clear the browser or change computers and it is gone, unless you gave it a name and a password.
- Keep your password secret. Don't share an account or play someone else's.
- Don't sell, buy or trade accounts, items or gold for real money.
Be kind and play fair
- No bullying, threats or mean words, in chat, in names or in what you build.
- Don't share anyone's personal details, yours included. (Chat hides phone numbers and email addresses, but please don't try.)
- No cheating: no hacks, scripts or bots that play for you, and no using bugs to get ahead. Found a bug? Tell us.
- Don't try to break, overload or get into the game's servers.
- See someone breaking the rules? Report them in the game, or write to us.
Names and what you build
Your hero's name and what you build must follow these rules. We may change a name or remove a build that doesn't. What you build stays yours as an idea, and you let us keep it in the game and show it to other players, including in pictures and videos of the game.
AI characters
Some characters in the game (town people like King Poly, and the game's adventurers, who show "(Bot)" after their name) can answer with an AI. What they say can be wrong, and they are not people. Never tell them your real name or where you live.
The game changes
We update Polyworld often. Items, numbers, places and features can change, move or go away, and things may sometimes be reset to keep the game fair. Gold and items in the game are part of the game: they have no value outside it.
If the rules are broken
We may mute, pause or close an account that breaks these rules, and remove what it made. You can stop playing at any time, and ask us to delete your account (see the privacy page).
No promises we can't keep
Polyworld is free and given as it is. We work hard to keep it running and your progress safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and, as far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for lost progress or other losses from playing.
Changes
If these rules change, we will update this page and its date. Playing after a change means you agree to the new rules.
